Joanna Sanetra-Szeliga

Joanna holds a PhD in Economics. She is the Head of the UNESCO Chair in Heritage and Urban Studies at the Krakow University of Economics and consultant at the Statistical Office in Krakow. Author and editor of publications dedicated to the socio-economic potential of culture and heritage, creative industries, cultural policy, and mega-events. Co-author of the report CRE-AI-TIVE. Creatives in the Era of AI (2025). She is a member of the UN-Habitat UNI MetroHub Consortium on Heritage and Metropolis (Heritopolis) and a member of the Working Group on National Smart Specialization 12 – Creative Sectors at the Ministry of Development and Technology. Currently, she is also involved as a researcher in the project Navigating AI through Human-Centric Deployment Strategies (HUMAIN), co-led by Centrum Cyfrowe and implemented with the support of the EU Horizon program.
