Centrum Cyfrowe is proud to join the Creative Commons’ TAROCH Coalition – a global collaborative effort to improve open access to cultural heritage!

The ultimate goal of the TAROCH Coalition (short for: Towards a Recommendation on Open Cultural Heritage) is to encourage UNESCO to develop international guidance on open access to public domain heritage, so that it is equitably accessible to all. This falls in line with UNESCO’s broader mission and cultural and information policy, in particular intercultural dialog and cultural exchanges, thereby contributing to building more connected, resilient, and sustainable societies.

Maria Drabczyk, chair of our foundation, will be the Coalition’s co-chair of the Advocacy Workspace alongside Patricia Díaz-Rubio of Wikimedia Chile. They will be working to widely implement an advocacy strategy and disseminate advocacy tools and materials to promote the wider recognition of open access to cultural heritage.

The TAROCH Coalition is steered and funded by Creative Commons, and led by representatives of a global, diverse community of organizations and institutions. While our individual missions differ, we all believe in the transformative power of open solutions and share a vision of fair and equitable access to cultural heritage.

We are excited for our future endeavors together with all initial and future members of the TAROCH Coalition!
