The Board of Centrum Cyfrowe: Magdalena Biernat, Maja Drabczyk, Aleksandra Janus

At Centrum Cyfrowe we believe in the power of collective management. That is why we are very happy to share the news that the Board of our organisation has been expanded by another member – Maja Drabczyk.

A year ago, Magda Biernat and Aleksandra Janus took over the management of Centrum Cyfrowe as Directors and Board Members, sharing the duties and responsibilities as well as jointly leading the organisation. At the time, we announced that this change was part of a broader process of moving towards a more collective model of managing the organisation. The expansion of the Board with a new person is another step in this direction.

Maja joined our team at the start of September 2021, taking on the leadership of the advocacy team within our organisation. She is also responsible for that area within her activity on the Board.

Maja has extensive experience in international projects in the field of digital heritage and new technologies, being a member of a number of European and global networks, including The Council of The Europeana Network Association, the Board of the  EUscreen Foundation and Chair of the FIAT IFTA Committee On Value, Use and Copyright. She is a sociologist by education and a researcher and project manager by avocation. Her key projects are focused on researching the social value of digitisation of the cultural and educational sectors in relation to the needs of their users. Before joining Centrum Cyfrowe, Maja was responsible for the foreign cooperation of the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute (FINA). Previously, she participated in the creation of the crowdfunding website Wspieramkulture.pl and worked at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as an expert on international relations.
